Kason Food Grade Silicone is a 100% silicone product which is approved by the NSF (National Science Foundation). This agency independently tests, audits & certifies consumer products for the Food & water sectors.
One reason this product meets the approval standards of NSF is because it has little or no extenders added to the silicone. Extenders are additives that many manufacturers use to assist with hardness, tear strength, elongation & cure speed.
If extenders are added to the base silicone compound they increase the Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) which can potentially release toxic vapors and gasses.
